Joseph S. Delgado

October 24, 1940 ~ May 6, 2017 (age 76) 76 Years Old

Joseph S. Delgado, 76, of South Bend, IN, passed away peacefully and entered his home in Heaven at 6:25 a.m., Saturday, May 6, 2017.
Joseph was born October 24, 1940 in Saginaw, Michigan to Saturino and Cecilia (Soli) Delgado, who have passed before him.
On February 21, 1959, Joseph S. Delgado and Mary Martinez were united in marriage. They were happily married for 58 years. Joseph is survived by daughter, Yolanda (George, Jr.) Aldarondo of Tucson, AZ; son, Joseph (Karyn) Delgado and daughter, Amanda (Jesse) Huerta both of South Bend. Father's Day came early this year as Joseph is now rejoined with his beloved son, John Delgado, who entered Heaven's gates on July 24, 2004.
He is also remembered by his surviving siblings, Saturino and Josephine. His other five siblings who have passed before him are Mercy, Antonia, Albert, Frank and John.
Joseph is deeply loved by his grandchildren, Moses, Joshua, Michelle, Marina, Antonio, Ashley, Melissa, Jessica, Chris, Lauren, Michael, Aaron, Desiree, Danielle; and great grandchildren, Peyton, Anthony, Jaydon, Nathan, Jonathan, Izrael, Isaac, Anna, Elijah, Jordan, Jacob, Apollo, Caydan, Caleb, Milani, Claire and Ava.
He was also loved by a host of loving nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends.
Joseph started working at General Motors in Saginaw, Michigan in 1966, and entered the skilled trades program wherein he became a millwright. In 1989, Joseph took on the new role as Employee Assistance Representative before retiring in 1991. Joseph spent his last working days at the Knollwood Country Club Golf Course. He enjoyed the serenity of the greens as a groundskeeper and later served as a mechanic until his last day there on March 23, 2017.
Joseph enjoyed auto mechanics, healthy discussions on politics, sharing stories of his life as he grew up. He enjoyed spending his free time working outside, from caring for his property to working on his next project. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, but mostly he enjoyed Ministering the Word of God and praying for others. Joseph attended Christ Chapel where he was an Elder and Usher. He loved his church and he loved people. Joseph and Mary, as a soul-winning team, have lead many lives to Christ. He put his whole heart into everything he did. This sweet-spirited Man of God was a precious gift of God and he will be dearly missed.
Adios por ahora. This is not goodbye. It's ok. I am going to follow you and we will spend eternity together with the Lord. Your loving wife.
