L. Edward Williams

L. Edward "Ed" Williams, 68, of Bremen, IN passed away at 8:46 a.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at his home after an extended illness.  He was born on October 4, 1946 in Knoxville, TN to George E. and Bobbie A. (Payne) Williams.  Ed was united in marriage to Linda M. (McCombs) on September 2, 1972 at Community Congregational Church in South Bend. 

Ed is survived by his wife of 42 years, Linda M. Williams; son, Lewis Edward "Ed" (Judith) Williams II of Niles, MI; his mother, Bobbie A. Smith of Bremen, IN; brothers, F. Tim Williams of Bremen, IN, Brent (Beth) Williams of Elkhart, IN and Bart (Cathy) Williams of South Bend, IN; stepsister, Vonda (Brian) Jacobs of Lakeville, IN; his three grandchildren and three special “great” grandchildren; mother-in-law, June McCombs and his good friend and fishing partner, Mike Ward.  He was preceded in death by his father, George E. Williams and two brothers, Brian Williams and Kevin Smith.

Ed is a longtime Bremen resident.  He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp.  He serviced ATMs while working for Armored Services of South Bend.  He was a member of the Lakeville Masonic Lodge 353, F&AM.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN where members of the Lakeville Lodge will also conduct a Masonic Memorial Service.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN.  Friends may visit with the family from 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
