Larry D, Funnell

Larry D. Funnell, age 78, residing in Niles, Michigan formerly of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 9:26 am Sunday, September 3, 2017 at home.  Larry retired in 1991 after 31 years of service at Uniroyal Corporation/Ball Band, Mishawaka. 

He was born on July 19, 1939 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Telford and Ruth (Britton) Funnell and lived most of his life in South Bend. On May 8, 1959 in Berrien Springs, MI, Larry married Marialyce Harrison Funnell who preceded him in death on May 30, 1998.

Larry is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Edward A. and Katie Funnell of Crown Point, IN and Jeffery P. and Barbara Funnell of Niles, MI; seven grandchildren, nine greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Betty E. Ditch of Covena, CA and Jackie Myers of Mishawaka.  Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Beverly J. Fager; and brother, Donald L. Funnell.

Larry served in United States Navy and was honorably discharged August of 1962. He was a member of Eagles #2083, Mishawaka; VFW #360, South Bend; and the American Legion.

Military honors and entombment will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at Riverview Mausoleum, South Bend, IN. Friends are invited to attend.  A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
