Lydia Mae Easterday, a lifelong resident of Lakeville, IN, passed away peacefully at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Hospice House, South Bend. She was 91 years old.
She was born March 7, 1921 in Lakeville, a daughter of Charles Melton Feagler & Tena Mae Howell Feagler, and has lived in Lakeville all of her life.
On June 30, 1941 in LaPorte, IN, as Lydia Mae Feagler, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Evan G. Easterday. Together, they have enjoyed 71 years of marriage.
Lydia is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Evan, along with her daughter, Carolyn (Lee) Vanwanzeele of Lakeville, her two sons, Glendyn (Debbie) Easterday, and Terry (Carol) Easterday, all of Lakeville. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Terry, Tabitha, Crystal, Angie, Glennie, and Lisa, along with eleven great-grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Damien, Ethan, Zackary, Alison, Evan, Joshua, Lydia, Hunter, and Tye.
Mrs. Easterday worked for the Union North School Corp. for sixteen years as a cook. She was a longtime member of Olive Branch United Brethren In Christ Church in Lakeville. Lydia enjoyed fishing, traveling, and growing flowers. She also loved her dogs and cats.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 1, at Olive Branch United Brethren In Christ Church, 22750 Osborne Road, Lakeville. Rev. Dan Drake will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend, and one hour prior to services Friday at the Church.
