Marjorie J. Knepp

March 10, 1925 ~ January 9, 2018 (age 92) 92 Years Old

Marjorie J. Knepp, 92, of South Bend, IN, formerly of North Liberty, IN passed away at 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Sanctuary at St. Paul, South Bend.   She was born on March 10, 1925 in Walkerton, IN to the late Schulyer and Maude (Beall) Awald.  On October 28, 1944 at Grovertown Church, Grovertown, IN, she was united in marriage to Dale Knepp.

Marjorie is survived by her husband of seventy-three years, Dale Knepp; daughter, Linda (Daniel) Fuchs of Mishawaka, IN; two sons, Jerry (Deborah) Knepp of Bremen, IN and Michael (Deborah Haugh) Knepp of Sanford, MI;  six grandchildren, Jason (Jennifer) Knepp, Michele (Steve) Purvis, Jeff (Britt) Fuchs, Greg (Carole) Fuchs and Jon (Alana) Knepp and Jennifer (Harvey) Hood; twelve great grandchildren, Bryce and Andrew Purvis, Wesley and Adeline Knepp, Finley, Pippa, Grey, Elisabet and Katrin Fuchs, Maggie and ReaAnn Hood and Jude Knepp and sister, Kathryn Emmons of Walkerton, IN.  She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, DeLois Awald. 

Marjorie was a lifelong area resident moving to North Liberty in 1956.  She was a graduate of Grovertown High School.  Marjorie and Dale wintered in LaBelle, FL for nineteen years.  She retired in 1986 from Wells Aluminum after twenty years.  She was a fifty year member of the Eastern Star and a member of North Liberty United Methodist Church.  A special thanks to Burton & Anderson, family caregivers for all their love and support that they gave to Marjorie and Dale.

A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January13, 2017 at the North Liberty United Methodist Church, 107 S. Main Street, North Liberty, IN.  Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the service Saturday at church.                   Palmer Funeral Home-North Liberty is assisting the family with arrangements.
