Marla Joyce Lucas

Marla Joyce Lucas, 86, of South Bend, IN passed away at 9:40 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2018 at Healthwin Specialized Care Center.  She was born on July 11, 1932 in South Bend, IN to the late Wilfrid and Opal (Gorsuch) Hoegy.  On March 12, 1977 in South Bend, IN, she was united in marriage to Alan G. “Bud” Lucas who survives.

Marla is also survived by her son, Charles Pritchett of North Liberty, IN and two grandchildren.

Marla was a lifelong resident of South Bend.   She worked as a medical assistant at Cardiology Technician Associates, retiring in 1980 after thirty years of service.  She was a member of the V.F.W., President of the Garden Club in Greensburg, member of Home Extension and the Red Cross.  Marla volunteered at the hospital and was very active in politics. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Holy Trinity Church, 915 N. Olive Street, South Bend, IN.  Rev. Tina Velthuizen will officiate.  Palmer Funeral Home-River Park is assisting the family.
