Marshall Moore, Jr.

Elder Marshall Moore Jr., 85, transitioned to be with the Lord at his home in Niles, MI in the early hours of Wednesday November 28, 2018. Marshall was born to the union of Marshall Sr.  and Carrie (Thomas) Moore on August 9, 1933 in Drew, Mississippi.

Marshall attended the University of Purdue in West Lafayette, IN where he earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering and Ivy Tech College where he earned his apprenticeship in steel construction in 1970.   He was employed by Iron Workers Local 25 and Reith & Riley for a total of 47 years in the iron/steel construction industry.  

Marshall confessed his hope in Christ and was filled with the Holy Ghost in 1953 under the leadership of the late Bishop James Hopson.  He served as Assistant Pastor at New Bethel Tabernacle for 38 years under the leadership of the late District Elder Ardell Sanders.  Elder Marshall Moore later assisted Suffragan Bishop Carlton Burrel for a total of 9 years until his passing.  Elder Marshall Moore was steadfast in his faith and served faithfully until the Lord called him home.

On October 2, 1971 he was united in holy matrimony to Viola (Carter) Moore in South Bend, IN.  He was the father of one daughter, two granddaughter and three great grandchildren.  He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 47 years, Viola;  a brother, Isaiah (Dessie) Moore of Toledo, OH; a special daughter, Shannon Carter; a special son, Minister Rashad (Lisa) Minor. ; four God children: Mallory Nicholson, Destini Minor, Courtney Adams and Zoe Nicholson; a special nephew, Pastor Geoffrey (Dominque) Carter; and a host of extended family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Booker T. Moore.

Marshall will truly be missed by all who loved him.

Friends may call on the family for visitation from 5:00-8:00 pm on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, In 46628, as well as for an hour prior to service on Tuesday at New Vision, An Apostolic Faith Assembly.
