Nick A. McDonald

“Babe” Nick A. McDonald of South Bend, IN, age 66, passed away on Saturday August 5, 2017 at 2:51 PM. Nick worked as a painter, and he was a proud Marine, who served in Vietnam. He was a son, father, grandpa, great grandpa, uncle and brother.

Nick was born in South Bend on January 3, 1951 to Clark McDonald and Norma (Houck) Boyer. Nick is survived by his mother Norma; sons Nick A. (Joetta) McDonald Jr., Joshua L. (Harmony) McDonald, and Ryan J. (Candace) McDonald; grandchildren Brad, Brianna, Lexus, Nicholas, Nakayla, Brooklyn, and Bailey; great grandson Jaxon; sisters Cindy (Terry) Moon of Texas and Lorrie (Billy) Lacy of New Mexico; and brothers Richard “Rick” (Debbie) McDonald of Ohio, Micheal “Mick” McDonald of South Bend; Victor “Vic” Boyer of Niles, MI; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Babe also had many, many friends. Nick is preceded in death by his father Clark and sister Debbie McDonald.

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday August 11, 2017 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-7:00 PM prior to the service. Memorial contributions in honor of Nick may be given to the McDonald family in the care of Palmer Funeral Homes.
