SOUTH BEND – Norma J. DiGirolamo, 90, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away Saturday, March 10, 2018 at the Sanctuary of St. Paul Retirement Community, South Bend.

Norma was born on August 7, 1927 in South Bend to the late Joseph Patterson and Nina (Thomas) Patterson, and has been a lifelong resident of this area, graduating from John Adams High School.  During high school, she was a part of the High School Jeep Club.

On February 8, 1948 in South Bend, she was married to Carmelo DiGirolamo, who has preceded her in death in 2003.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Patterson.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Karen (Jim) McFarland of Phoenix, AZ, Carmen (Kirk Burkett) DiGirolamo of Austinville, VA, Michele (Brian) Holaway of Estes Park, CO, and Pam (Todd) Suomela of Elkhart, IN.  Also surviving are eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Carol Schaefer and Linda McCune, both of South Bend.    

Memorial services for Norma will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend, IN 46615.  Friends may gather with the family two hours prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers or memorial contributions, you are encouraged to enjoy a meal together with family and friends.  Palmer Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
