Norma J. Morris

Norma J. Morris, 81, of South Bend, IN passed away at 2:50 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at Hospice House.   She was born on January 13, 1936 in Michigan City, IN to the late Edgar D. and Adena D. (Kieffer) Thompson.  On November 23, 1975 in South Bend, IN she was united in marriage to David A. Morris.

Norma is survived by her husband, David Morris; son Charles W. Cox, Jr. of South Bend, IN, step daughters, Leota S. Morris of Mishawaka, IN and Dawn M. Morris of South Bend, IN and sister, Sally (Zachary) Alexandrakis of North Vancouver.  She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Linda Marie Cox.

Norma was a lifelong resident of South Bend.  She retired in 1997 from the Chamber of Commerce.  She previously worked as a bookkeeper for RJ Bonham and Associates.  She worked part-time for the SB Symphony and for Studebaker Museum.  Norma was a member of the American Legion #303, South Bend Symphony League, Euchre Club and the Jewish Mothers.  She volunteered at Ronald McDonald House.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 17, 2017 at St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road, South Bend, IN.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend, IN where a prayer vigil will be held at 5:30 p.m.
