Norma "Jean" Heim, 90, of South Bend, IN passed away at 12:00 p.m. Monday, August 6, 2018 at Hospice House. She was born on December 22, 1927 in North Liberty, IN to the late Cleatus and Rita (Moon) Heim.
Jean is survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for deeply. Jean was blessed by her nephew, Roy Newland, who not only was a best friend but a loving caregiver. She was preceded in death by five sisters, Vera Kreueger, Winifred Mobley, Evelyn Banks, Georgia Bergland and Donabelle Shoemaker and brother, Freeman Heim.
Jean retired from Bendix Corporation where she worked as a secretary. She also worked for Studebaker and Mercedes Benz in South Bend. She was a member of North Liberty Church of Christ. Jean was an avid golfer and was a member of the Bendix's Golf League. She enjoyed family reunions and lunches with co-workers. Jean will be remembered as loving aunt with the kindest heart and sweetest smile.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 10, 2018 at North Liberty Church of Christ, 65225 Indiana 23, North Liberty, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Porter Rae Cemetery, North Liberty, IN. Friends may visit with the family from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Thursday at Palmer Funeral Home, 202 N. Main Street, North Liberty, IN and one hour prior to the services at church on Friday.
