Otis B Ursery

Otis B. Ursery, 60, born to Juanita Ursery and Johnny Ursery Sr. on March 22, 1957, passed away on December 2, 2017 with his fiancé by his side. He was a resident of South Bend, IN for 40 years. He attended Hughes High School. Otis was an athlete and known to everyone as “Squeaky”. He loved cooking, playing cards, gambling and spending time with family. He had the best heart in the world. His love for others was unconditional.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving daughter, Laneika Ursery, his fiancé, Barbara Taylor and his granddaughter, Malia Summer Jones. He is survived by 8 siblings: Jeannie Ursery, Ruby Ursery, Earnestine (Fowler) Ursery, Earlene (Joshua) Ursery, Flora (Cunnes) Ursery, Doris Ursery, Anita Ursery and one stepbrother, Terry King, along with special nieces and nephews Latisha and James Jones, Zyhere, Jamarius, Juelz, London, La’niyah, NaKiya, Naketia and goddaughter Ariole Jones, nephew Robert Jackson and special friends: Sara Walker, TJ CClifford Bonds, Bobby Campbell, Leroy Jones Whitaker,  and Ken.

He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Ursery Sr., Johnny Ursery Jr., his son, Joshua Ursery and grandparents George and Novela Gaines.

Services for Otis will take place on Saturday, December 9th at Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend at 3:00 p.m.  Friends may call on the family for one hour prior to service at the funeral home.Online condolences may be left for Otis’s family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com
