SOUTH BEND – Pearl Bottorff, 83, residing in South Bend, IN passed away at 6:50 am Monday, May 4, 2015 at Signature Health Care, South Bend.  Pearl retired from the South Bend License Branch after 25 years of service.  She was born on February 15, 1932 in Breathitt County, KY to the late Jerry and Adie (Bailey) Clemons.  Pearl lived in South Bend since 1957 coming from Knox, IN. 

Pearl is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Daniel) Dawson of Granger; two sons, Arthur (Peg) Bottorff of Lafayette, IN and Glenn Howard of South Bend; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; four sisters, Brooke Stapleton of Austin, TX, Dorothy Hornbeck of Indianapolis, Loretta (David) Kelly of Plainfield, IN and Faye (Pat) Youngreen of Michigan City, IN; one brother, Elem (Betty) Clemons of Tipton, IN; and her companion of 50 years, Ervin M. Swift of South Bend. Pearl was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Pearl graduated from Knox High School.  She loved to cook and greatly enjoyed gardening. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 noon Friday, May 8, 2015 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 24832 US 12, Edwardsburg, MI. Graveside services and burial will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend, IN.   Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 am until mass time Friday in the church. Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Pearl was a longtime parishioner and Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.  For years she worked tirelessly and selflessly to benefit the Parish thru various fundraising and spiritual avenues.  Expressions of sympathy in memory of Pearl are encouraged by donating to Our Lady of the Lake at the address listed above.
