Phyllis Jean (Holland) Geyer

Phyllis Jean Geyer, 86 years old, passed away at 7:38 a.m. on Monday, June 12, 2017 at Hospice House of South Bend.  Mrs. Geyer was born on March 2, 1931 in Walkerton, IN to the late George and Dorothy (Fall) Holland. She was also preceded in death by her step-father, Raymond Rans; and an infant brother.   Mrs. Geyer has been a lifelong resident of Lakeville.  On November 26, 1950 in Lakeville, Phyllis and Loren Roger Geyer were united in marriage.  Loren preceded her in death on November 16, 2010. 

Mrs. Geyer is survived by her three daughters, Debra (Richard) Gardner of Rochester, IN, Cindy (Randy) Frick of Lakeville, and Lori (Robert) Gibson of Rochester, IN; six grandchildren, Christopher (Betsy) Gardner, Andrew (Samantha) Gardner, Kimberly Gardner, Ryan (Jennifer) Frick, Chad (Kristina) Frick and Dana Gibson;  eleven great grandchildren, Kirsta, Caleb, Loren, James, Gretchen, McKenzie, Madilyn, Lyla, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, and Jacob; two step-brothers, Mike Rans of Florida and James (Julie) Rans of Granger; and a foster sister, Diana (Chuck) Pennington of Granger. 

Mrs. Geyer was a former telephone operator at the main switchboard and bookkeeper for Hummel Lumber Company.  She also worked alongside her husband while he was the township trustee for Union Township.  Mrs. Geyer was also the clerk for Warren and North Township.  She has been a faithful member of Lakeville United Methodist Church. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Lakeville United Methodist Church, 610 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN.  Pastor Neil Davis, Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Lakeville Cemetery.  Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 15th, at the Palmer Funeral Home, located within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville.  Friends may also visit with the family one hour prior to services at the Lakeville United Methodist Church on Friday.
