Raymond A. Tetzlaff

November 26, 1932 ~ June 3, 2015 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Raymond A. Tetzlaff, 82, a lifelong resident of South Bend, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at West Bend Nursing Home, South Bend.  Mr. Tetzlaff was born on November 26, 1932 in South Bend to the late Harry and Daisy (Hostetler) Tetzlaff.   He was united in marriage on March 21, 1952 in South Bend to Jacqueline L. Kesler. 

Along with his loving wife of 63 years, Jacqueline, Raymond is survived by one daughter, Pamela Marshall of Niles, MI; three sons, Roger “Michael” (Marie) Tetzlaff of North Liberty, Daniel Tetzlaff of South Bend, and Ty Ray (Jean Marie) Tetzlaff of O’Fallon, MO; seven grandchildren, Justina (Larry) Roper, Dane (Daniell) Tetzlaff, Tim (Lanita) Tetzlaff, Jim Tetzlaff, Nick Tetzlaff, Tyler Tetzlaff, and Abby Tetzlaff; five great grandchildren;  Drew, Denise, Gabby, Isabelle, and Owen; seven sisters, Betty Johnson, Margaret Nimtz, Ruth Barnhart, Alice Basham, Janice Kurz, Ardie (Dave) Mornout, and Jackie Tetzlaff;  four brothers, Allen (Sandy) Tetzlaff, Gene (Grace) Tetzlaff, Burt (Debbie) Tetzlaff and Jerry (Cherrie) Tetzlaff; sister-in-law, Juanita Tetzlaff; and brother-in-law, Daryl Uselman.  Raymond is also survived by 45 nieces and nephews and extended family.    Raymond was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Jane Tetzlaff, in 1966; son-in-law, Gregg Marshall in 1999; sister, Irene Uselman; and his brother, John Tetzlaff.

Raymond was a graduate of Greene High  School, worked at the former Reliable Dairy in South Bend for over twenty years and Sealtest Co. for ten years.  He retired from Waters and Rodgers.  Raymond was a charter member of the Greene Township Lion’s Club and played Triple A Softball for over twenty years.  He enjoyed his fishing trips to northern Wisconsin and was a member of the Grace Chapel Church in Crumstown.  Raymond volunteered his time for the community at  Sumption Prairie Cemetery for twenty five years. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan Street, South Bend.  Pastor Mark Rydzinski will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 4th, at the funeral home and one hour prior to services on Friday.
