Richard A. Arnold, 88 years old, residing in Mishawaka, passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Creekside Village in Mishawaka. He was born on January 7, 1930 in South Bend, Indiana to the late Jesse and Maxine Arnold. On March 21, 1963 in Niles, Michigan he was united in marriage to Edith Arnold, who preceded him in death on July 20, 2016.
Richard is survived by his son, Joe (Jill Sinclair) Arnold of Granger, Indiana; his daughter, Deanna (Trell Schlundt) Arnold of Osceola, IN and their son, Richard (Denise) Hock; his daughter, Cheryl (Steve) Orin of St. Cloud, Florida and their son Wayne; and step-daughter; Linda J. (Phillip) Bennett of Charleston, Maine and their children, David, Aaron and Justin, as well as Dennis’ son Brent. Nine great grandchildren. His cousins, Sharon (Clarence) Jester of Mishawaka and Edwina Bert of Mishawaka, IN. Richard was preceded in death by his step-son Dennis Birdsell.
Richard honorably served our country as a military police officer in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was the owner of Arnold’s Carpet Service where he helped families for over 52 years. He was a member of the Moose.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday October 2, 2018 at 1:00pm at Palmer Funeral Home-River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with family on Monday, October 1st from 7:00-9:00 pm at the funeral home and two hours before the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Rev. William Bruneau will be officiating. Burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend, Indiana.
