Robert H Whitmer

Robert H. Whitmer, residing in South Bend, formerly of North Liberty, IN; passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2018.

He was born July 26, 1921 in North Liberty, a son of the late Earl E. & Nellie M. (Bare) Whitmer and has remained a lifelong resident. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Beulah M. Chabera, Esther L. Annis, and brothers, Harry W. & Ray E. Whitmer, along with his sister-in-law Jean Whitmer and brother-in-law Bill Annis.

He is survived by many nieces, nephews and friends, that have always been a special part of his life. Bob retired in 1982 as Sales Manager for Wells Aluminum Company following 30 years of employment. He proudly served his country in the Army Medical Corp. from October 1942 to January 1946. He was a member of the Shriners Hospital for Children Philanthropic Society, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of South Bend, and North Liberty Lodge #226, F. & AM., North Liberty United Methodist Church, and the American Legion Post #365 of North Liberty.

A Masonic graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, June 25, 2018, at Eastlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.
