Dearest Marilyn, Norris and Meryl,

I'm so sorry for your loss. I was honored to be a part of the music program during the first years. Choir, classes, musicals and more. I was even your babysitter. I loved knowing your family. God bless you. Kathy

I have been blessed by Bob Ham's life in many ways. I was blessed to sing in the Bethel Choir, with his choir at the Clay United Methodist Church and thoroughly enjoyed singing at Carnegie Hall in New York with him on two occasions. He influenced my life as a choir director as well as my daughter who also sang under Bob's direction. Eternity will be the only place we will surely see how much Bob's life and ministry have accomplished for the Kingdom of God. Bob's life legacy will live on in the multitudes of people he has influenced over his lifetime. Until we meet again my good friend...

Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies.
Heaven’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

No more pain, no more sadness, no more suffering....He is in a new body wrapped in Glory and clothed in Light.
I am praying for all of you. Bob has made such a powerful impact on my life. He was able to teach me the joy of music as well as the fundamentals. He will definitely be missed, but I am also rejoicing that he is in heaven with the Father he has truly adored.
I wish I was able to make the services, but know that my prayers are with you all.

Love always,
LaDonna (Brown) Cunningham

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this very emotional time. I moved from the Escanaba area in my sophomore year but always received an invitation to the reunions. I always enjoy attending getting to see and talk with friends from the early years. One reunion was spent talking with Bob and sharing stories about a close common friend, Jim Broderson. May God Bless you all during this time with a peace that only He can give.

Our deepest condolences to you, Marilyn and your family, as you face the bitter-sweet experience of releasing Dr. Bob into Heavenly Glory. He was a great man of God and brought great honor to his profession, his service to Bethel College and the Kingdom of God. Brenda and I have long appreciated both you and your husband for the way you blessed us by helping our daughter, Charissa, transition from her high school years into her college studies and musical development. We pray that the Lord will strengthen you and help you through this time of grief and celebration of Bob's life.

In His peace, Jim and Brenda Keller, Regional Dir., Michigan Region of the Missionary Church.

It is with a heavy heart that I learned of Bob's passing, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. I will always hold Bob dear in my memory, having had the privilege of singing under his direction with the Bethel choir for several years. He was as much a minister as a choir director. His love and ready smile will be sorely missed by so many whose lives he touched. May God and fond memories grant your family strength in the days ahead.

I am shocked to hear that Bob is gone. He was my childhood, neighborhood friend from across the alley on 14th street. I have many good memories of our friendship. I remember riding his shaky Ducati motorbike out to the Ham's lake house (cabin) near Ford River for a day at the beach. I used to run into Bob as an adult during the summer in Escanaba when he was home visiting family and what a successful, family man of God he had become. My condolences to Marilyn and family and Mrs. Ham, Laurel and Jack. He will be missed.

My condolences to Bob's family. Bob and I were classmates in Escanaba. I remember being in marching band together...My friends Scott Avery and Alan Chambers have kept me aware of Bob's illness. Cancer is a terrible disease. My thought are with his family as Bob is now free and pain free.

Please also pass my condolences on to Bob's mother. So many memories of the years in Escanaba.

I am so saddened to learn of Bob’s passing. I have known him since we were very young; we went to school together and attended the same church (First Presbyterian in Escanaba). We were in youth group at the church and also in the choir, along with his dad. And, in high school we were in chorus and Chorale together. If you check the Escanaba yearbooks, you will see our photos side-by-side. The last I saw him was at an Escanaba Class Reunion some years ago. He was the same Bob – soft-spoken, gentle and sweet. When I read of all his accomplishments, I had no idea how amazingly talented he was. He never bragged about any of it. The fact that his talents were for God’s glory, tells me that he was the same unassuming guy I’ve always known. I cannot imagine the realm of lives he touched and the love he spread throughout his career. Marilyn, you and your children and grandchildren have my utmost sympathy. Bob’s love will go on in the lives of your family and all he touched. He will never be forgotten. The loss of Bob on earth is great but the glory of heaven has been enriched with his entrance into his Eternal Home. Prayers and love go out to you and your family.

I was shocked to read of Bob's passing in the Escanaba Daily Press this morning. I am so sorry for your loss Marilyn. You two were such a special couple ever since the two of you got together, and your musical gifts were profound! I'm sorry you have to be in this valley but looking ahead, heaven gained Bob, we'll continue our earthly walk, and know that many people hold you in their thoughts and prayers.

What a pleasure for me to watch God mold and make Bob into the man of God that he has become! The early years in Marquette until today, in Mishawaka, Indiana, when God called him home. "Well done, good and faithful servant!"
I so look forward to the day when we all can be together again. MJ, I love you, my friend! Will continue to pray much for all of you.
