My father, Robert Finn worked at the South Bend Tribune with Mr. Tharp and was very distressed to hear of his passing. His health issues and age make it difficult for him to get around very well, so I reassured him that we could leave you this message of condolence. We are so sorry for your loss and Dad wanted you to know that Mr. Tharp was a wonderful friend to him during their Tribune years. God bless you all!

We mourn the loss of the Tharp family but also celebrate the legacy Robert leaves. Though I never knew Robert, I know his grandson, Mike, and am his friend and pastor in Lapel, IN. Robert surely leaves a family dedicated to service of God and others. May the family be comforted by the legacy of family, friends and faith and may they find hope in his profession of Jesus Christ, who is resurrection and life.
