Robert A. Wallace, Sr.

Robert, mostly known as Bob to family and friends, is the son of Glenn A. and Dorothy L. Wallace, who are both deceased. Bob spent his early years living in Wyatt, IN until the family moves to the LaPaz area in 1967.

He was a graduate of LaVille High School in 1972. After graduating, he spent several years working for the Indiana Highway Department out of the LaPaz unit.

After leaving there, he went to work in the construction business with his father, until his illness and subsequent death in 1999.

Bob then worked at a security firm in South Bend, IN for a year, after which he turned to driving trucks until April 2008 when he was diagnosed with cancer and had to stop working. He moved from LaPaz to Plymouth, IN in September 2008 where he spent the rest of his life.

Bob was married for 3 years to Julie J. Whitaker from Lakeville, IN, where they had a son, Robert A. Wallace II, who survives along with one grandson, Phillip; one granddaughter, Trinity; and one sister, Kay D. Mutti, of Bremen, IN.

Services for Robert will be at 12:00 PM on Thursday, October 12, at Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex in Lakeville, IN. Graveside services will follow at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend. Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, October 11 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Thursday for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
