Robert "Bob" Junior Smith

Robert Junior “Bob” Smith, 83 years old, passed away in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 11, 2019 in his home.  Robert was born on October 28, 1935 in Ripley, Ohio to the late Henry and Mymie (Sapp) Smith. 

Robert is survived by his step children, Marcy (Ronald Allison) Day of South Bend, Penny (Dave) Rowlen of Alexandria, IN, Kennen (Terri) Shafer of Plymouth, IN, Karlin (Angie) Shafer of Indianapolis, IN  and John (Annette) Shafer of Atlanta GA.  Robert also had 10 grand children and 9 great grandchildren.   Preceding Robert in death are is parents, wife, Janice L. Smith on February 2, 2019 as well as, son Kevin R Smith on February 19, 2005; sisters Dora Kirker, Linnie Kidd, Marie Hamilton, Shirley Wigglesworth, Wilma Bick, Helen Swearigen and brothers Stanley, Richard, Herbert and James Smith.

Robert lived in the South Bend area most of his life and was a truck driver for over 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at Palmer Funeral Home within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536. Rev. Larry Baker will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00AM – 1:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home before the service.
