Rodney A. Davis

Rodney A. Davis, 60, of Lakeville, passed away at 9:05PM on Saturday, June 8th at Memorial Hospital in South Bend.  Rodney battled stage 4 bladder cancer from December 2017 until he took his last breath. 

Rodney was born on August 31, 1958 in South Bend, Indiana, to Bud and Mary (Haines) Davis.

On January 31, 1981, Rodney and Cheryl Lynn Bope were married at the Peoples Church of South Bend; and she survives. 

Rodney was employed by Beemans Lift Trucks for forty-three years.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching his grandkids play sports.  In his younger days he loved riding around in his mustang, and camping with his wife and kids in Canada and Tennessee.

Rodney is survived by his mother; Mary Matheny of Lakeville, wife; Cheryl Davis of Lakeville, son; Travis Davis of Elkhart, his children; Daivyn, Christopher and Kaylynn Davis, daughter; Amy Davis (Johnny) of Royal Center, her son; Cole Trent.

Rodney was preceded in death by his father; Bud Davis, stepfather; Harold Matheny, and a brother; Danny Davis.

A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan Street, Lakeville, with Pastor Ben Webb officiating.  Friends may visit with the family from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
