Ronald L. Baney, 76, of Lakeville, passed away on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at his home.
Ronald was born on June 21, 1936 in Mishawaka to the late John Wayne and Hazel Mae (Harrison) Baney and has resided in the Lakeville area since 1964, coming from the South Bend- Mishawaka area.  He attended school at Mishawaka High School and at IUSB.

On June 6, 1959 he was united in marriage to Ellen J. (Thompson) Baney, who survives.  Ronald served our country in the United States Army and was stationed in Japan. Following his years in the military, he worked at Ball Band Mishawaka (Uniroyal Corporation), was a type setter for the South Bend Tribune, operator of Ron Lonzo's Service Station (Lakeville), a driver for Mittler Suppy Co., owner of a Tree Trimming Company, and retired in 2000 as an engineer with Conrail Railroads.  He enjoyed reading, his times at the American Legion in LaPaz, and being a "seasonal Florida resident" during the winter months. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, John W. and Hazel M. Baney; two sisters, Jean Auwenrogge and Beverly Spainhower; six brothers, Richard, James, Paul, Dwight, Spencer, and his twin brother, Donald Baney.

He is survived by his wife, Ellen J. Baney of Lakeville; three sons, Douglas D. (Barbara A.) Baney of Plymouth, Jeffery R. (Linda A.) Baney of Plymouth, and Dale R. Baney of Lakeville; four grandchildren, Michael, Marion, Marrissa, and Marcus; two step-grandchildren, Amanda and Wesley; one great grandchild, Aaron; sister, Donna Weiczorsk of Mishawaka; and brother, Wayne (Norma) Baney of South Bend.

A public visitation will be held on Thursday, February 28, 2013 (4:00 PM - 8:00 PM) at Palmer Funeral Home located at 314 S. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN 46536.  A memorial service for Ronald L. Baney will be held at a later date.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Center for Hospice, 111 Sunnybrook Ct., South Bend, IN 46637.  Online condolences may be made at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.
