Sandra M. Leed, 75 years old, passed away at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home. Sandy was born on January 8, 1943 in LaPorte, IN to the late Lowell “Jim” and Grace E. (Cox) Carmichael. She has been a lifelong resident. On April 27, 1966 in Plymouth, Sandy and Roger C. Leed were united in marriage. Roger preceded her in death on October 7, 2007. One sister, Mary Ann Amor, also preceded her in death.
Sandy is survived by her three children and ten grandchildren; Andy and Stephanie Leed of Plymouth, and their children, Garrrett, McKenzie and Mason; Mike (Shelly) Leed of LaPaz, and their children, Brendan, Morgan, Meaghan, and Dawson; and Aimee Leed Lucas of Plymouth, and her children, Levi, Savannah, and Jaeden. Sandy is also survived by her wonderful sister, Patricia (Edgar) Reese of Bremen, IN. Aside from her family, Sandy received care and endless love from her neighbors, Pam and Steve Mirowski, Hospice Care, and her niece, Angie, along with Angie’s husband, Tom Wilson.
Sandy was the owner and manager of the former LaPaz Café for many years. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary in LaPaz and a 1961 graduate of Plymouth High School. She loved drinking coffee while feeding and watching the birds from her kitchen table, Sunday crossword puzzles, Jeopardy, and socializing with her friends and family on facebook. She was an incredible mother and took great pride in finding ways to support her grandchildren in all of their endeavors despite her physical state of health.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville,, IN. Chaplain Neil Davis will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fair Cemetery, North Liberty. Friends may visit with the family from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, October 14th, and from 12:00-1:00 p.m. on Monday morning at the funeral home.
