Sandra Lee St. Clair, 74, residing in Granger, passed away peacefully at 2:27 pm Monday, June 12, 2017 in her home. She was born July 28, 1942 in South Bend to Orie and Betty (Ellis) Swick, and remained a lifelong area resident.
In December, 1978 in Mishawaka, Sandra married James R. St. Clair, who survives. In addition to her loving husband of 38 years, she is survived by her daughters, Laurie Savarese-Helenburg of Nashville, TN and Stacey (David) Curtiss of Granger; five grandchildren, Lindsey (Levi) Andrews, Madisen McMahan, Connor Curtiss, Cameron Curtiss and Landon Curtiss; and four great grandchildren, Mason, Paige, Reece and Jaxton Andrews. She is also survived by one brother, Ronald (Teace) Swick of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her son, James “Jimmy” Savarese; and a brother, Pat Swick.
Sandra was nicknamed “Pinkie” and loved decorating, fashion and style. She was spunky and enjoyed driving Corvettes, spending time at their summer home on Lake Michigan, traveling, and generally having a good time. She was always so strong, looking out for other’s feelings and will be greatly missed by all who knew her, particularly her grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Nanny”.
Memorial services for Sandra will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday, June 15, 2017 in the Palmer Funeral Home - Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend, where friends may visit with the family from 3:00 - 4:00 pm prior to services.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in memory of Sandra may be donated to Center for Hospice Care, 501 Comfort Place, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
