Sandy Lynn Briggs

Sandy Lynn Briggs, 48 years old, passed away at her home at 8:17 p.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2017.  Sandy was born on January 11, 1969 in Terre Haute, IN to the late Richard Dean and Marjorie (Walters) Kimmel.  She has lived in South Bend since December of 1995.  On November 11, 1995 in Clinton, IN, Sandy and Joseph Briggs were united in marriage. 

Along with her loving husband, Joseph, Sandy is survived by their five children, Kelsey, Matthew, Courtney, William, and Hannah, all at home; two sisters, Terri (Randy Reese) Kimmel of Terre Haute, IN, and Rebecca (John) Lewis of Avon, IN; and nieces and nephews, Jonathon Kimmel, Jason Kimmel, Kelly Kimmel, and Jessica Kimmel.  Along with her parents, Sandy was preceded in death by her sister, Penny Arnett, and her niece, Michelle Shaffer.

Sandy worked for the past eleven years in retail customer service, the most recent at Kohl’s Department Store.  She was a graduate of Terre Haute North High School and a member of Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, South Bend.

The funeral service for Sandy will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the Evangel Heights United Methodist Church, 114 N. Ironwood Drive, South Bend.  Rev. Dr. Patrick Somers will officiate.  Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday at the church.  Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, South Bend is assisting the family.
