Shirley Ann Allen

Shirley Ann Allen, 72, passed away on the afternoon of Monday, March 11, 2019 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Shirley was born on December 27, 1946 to John Thomas and Pearlean G. (Giden) Lipsey.

A lifelong resident of South Bend, Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Shirley is survived by her loving children: Valarie Thomas of South Bend, Bradley James Smith of Michigan City and Elgin Thomas of South Bend. Shirley is also survived by nine siblings: Larry L. Thomas of Seattle, Wa, Willie F. (Carol) Lipsey of Indianapolis, Lisa V. Lipsey of Jacksonville, FL, Alvin M. Lipsey of South Bend, Elliot (Lisa) Lipsey of Rialto, CA, Theresa A. (Antonio) Lipsey of Jacksonville, FL, Lenneth (Angela) Lipsey of Fort Wayne, Gwendolyn D. Lipsey of Carmel, IN, Anthony L. (Carrie) Lipsey of Mishawaka, IN and John J. (Tamika) Lipsey of Phoenix, AZ. Shirley is also survived by a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, husband Russell V. Allen and five siblings: Linda Thomas, Dorothy J. Thomas, Kenneth A. Lipsey, Kevin R. Lipsey and Pearlie B. Giden.

Services for Mrs. Shirley Ann Allen will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at 12:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend, IN 46628.
