Susan Podemski Obituary
Susan Joann Podemski, 64, lifelong South Bend resident, passed away at 5:36 pm Monday, June 17, 2019 in her home. She was born February 9, 1955 in South Bend to the late Joseph E. and Helen E. Soos, Jr.
Susan married Kenneth Podemski, who preceded her in death on April 12, 2002. She was also preceded by her sister, Norma Peppers Stanage, who was Susan’s caregiver prior to her death on July 8, 2017. Susan is survived by several adopted brothers and sisters; as well as a host of nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Lee (Teri) Lippert of South Bend.
Susan graduated from Washington High School and worked at Logan Center, Camp Millhouse and Memorial Hospital before retiring.
Memorial services for Susan will be 2:00 pm Saturday, June 22, 2019 in the family’s home at 53887 Quince Road, South Bend, IN 46628. Rev. Barry England will officiate. Graveside services and burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm Saturday in the home prior to services. Palmer Funeral Home – Hickey Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family with arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Susan may be donated to Heartland Hospice, 230 W. Catalpa, Suite D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
