Te'Shan TaRae Godwin

Te’Shan TaRae Godwin, 20, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2018 in Fort Wayne, IN. Te’Shan was born in South Bend, IN on August 25, 1998.

Te’Shan could light a room with his smile. Te’Shan loved to make sure everyone around him had a good time. He was always dancing and just enjoying life to the fullest and always having fun. He loved being with family and friends. He was also very talented in basketball.

After graduating from John Adams High School in 2017, Te’Shan attended and played basketball for Kellogg Community College.  In August of 2018, Te’Shan enrolled and attended Indiana Tech in Fort Wayne, IN where he was studying Sports Management at the time of his passing.

Te’Shan leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Shana Harris and Shelfanta Godwin, both of South Bend; sister Talaija Godwin of South Bend; maternal grandparents David and Jill Harris; paternal grandparents Wesley and Shirley Godwin; great-grandmother Christine Ottbridge; aunts Tyshanika Miller of Phoenix AZ, Ayanna Harris, Javona Harris, Maria Godwin and Audrey Granderson of South Bend, IN; uncles David (Kiuana) Harris of Indianapolis IN, Marques Harris, Wesley Godwin and Frankie Sanders of South Bend IN; godparents Fiona Comer, Antionette Covington and DaShawn Works, Sr.; girlfriend TaNasia Jefferies; as well as a host of extended family members and friends.

Te’Shan is proceeded in death by his brother, ShaVante Godwin, maternal grandmother, Carmen Freeman and maternal great-grandmother, Shirley Harris-Sanders

Services for Te’Shan will held on Saturday, October 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt Carmel Missionary Baptist Church, 1620 S Saint Joseph Street, South Bend, IN.  Friends may call on the family for visitation for one hour prior to service at the church.  Pastor Rickardo Taylor, Sr. will officiate.  Palmer Funeral Home – West Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
