Tracey S. Harrington

Tracey S. Harrington, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend left us March 12, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Tracey was born on August 22nd 1943 in Pittsburgh, PA to Lyle and Regina (Love) Schue.  It was during college that Tracey met and married Dr. John Fulton Harrington in 1966.  Tracey and John shared 50 years of happiness and marriage.  

Tracey lived for her husband, her two boys and her grandchildren.  Her love of travel started when she moved to Europe with John in 1966 for a three-year honeymoon.  She spent 37 summers at Diamond Lake in Cassopolis, MI where she built a beautiful home for her family on the water.  She loved the sunshine and beautiful sunsets.  In retirement, she and John spent their winters boating on the waters of south Florida and enjoying many ports of the Bahamas.  Tracey had a passion for gourmet cooking and was always quick to volunteer incredible food for friends and family.  Her home whether in South Bend, Cassopolis, Cape Coral or on their boat was a welcoming place for all who knew her.  Tracey will be sorely missed by all who loved her.

Tracey was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Schue.  She is survived by her husband, John, her children Kyle (Charise) Harrington of Windsor, CO, Chad (Dyan) Harrington of South Bend, IN, her grandchildren Riley, Carson, Cate, and Jack and sister Kim (Jim) Mullin of Flagler Beach, FL.

A memorial service and celebration of Tracey’s life will be held 6:00 p.m. Friday, March 17th at the Palmer Funeral Home-Hickey Chapel, 17131 Cleveland Road, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home from 4 – 6 p.m. Friday.   In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation may be made to the Alzheimer’s Services 922 E.
