William McCormick III Obituary

William Louis McCormick III was born on January 24, 1979 in St. Louis, MO to William Louis McCormick, Jr. and Loretta Marie McCormick Page. The Lord Jesus Christ called William home unexpectedly on November 28, 2019, Thanksgiving morning, while he was sleeping. God’s holy angel came and took him into Heaven. William has no more sorrow and no more pain. He is at peace with his Savior eternally.

William accepted Christ at the age of 9. He was baptized at Bermuda Bible Hall in Normandy, MO in 1988. William attended church twice a week with his family in St. Louis. He moved to South Bend, IN in 1989 and his family continued to attend church services. William’s last church home was at Christian Center Church on Ireland Road in South Bend, IN. William loved the weekly worship services, reading his Bible, singing along with the worship team and listening to preaching by Pastor Mark Lantz. William loved the Lord, Jesus Christ and served Him, by his life.

William was a happy child while he grew up in St. Louis, MO, playing with his sisters Lynette and Tanyette and brothers Timotheus and Johnathan. William was the oldest son in his family. William and his family moved to South Bend, IN in July 1989 when his Dad’s company relocated the entire family. John Page, his Dad, became his father when William’s biological father left the family in the 1970s.

William’s health began to decline when he was 13, but he learned to overcome his challenges over the next 27 years.

William attended Brown’s Young Adult School for years, then transitioned to Washington High School. William graduated from Washington High School upon completing his classes in 1997. William has lots of friends from attending Washington High and Globe Star, and from years at Logan Industries. William worked for the Logan Industries Supportive Workshop in South Bend, IN. He was an assembly line worker and spent time in a wonderful department, called “Studios”, at Logan. William enjoyed going to Logan Industries and to the Logan dances, where he danced with his friends and the volunteers from Notre Dame.

William was never married and lived at home with his family until his untimely death.

William liked people and was never shy talking to them out in the community. William will be remembered for teasing his sister, Tanyette, and joking around with people who knew him. William was an early riser! He liked to wake up his mother to discuss the events of his day. William woke up his sister Tanyette . Because Tanyette looked forward to going to her AA meetings in the daytime or evening, William liked teasing Tanyette every morning and telling her she should stop smoking. William liked learning about technology and current events from his younger brother Johnathan in his room. William liked talking about his social life with him. William adored Tanyette and Johnathan because they were very supportive of him throughout his adult life. William enjoyed going out to movies with his mother and brother Johnathan in South Bend.

Although William was close to his married brother Timothy and sister Lynette, he liked calling and checking on them, or talking to them when they visited.

William called Transpo every week about his weekly schedule. He liked his Transpo drivers. William kept a planner. He had a great memory! William learned to overcome his many challenges and smiled throughout them all. William was an amazing man! He never let his challenges define him or stop him from doing what he could do, or from learning new things in his life!

William truly understood forgiveness and forgave people who were not kind to him. William was a remarkable Christian man of God.

William inspired his mother, Loretta Page, to keep going in life and do her best, despite her daily challenges. William was admired and loved by so many people! They didn’t know how he could keep going on every day and keep smiling! William learned to persevere and smile though his life’s challenges. We loved his amazing smile!

William had lots of support from his immediate family and friends in his life. Especially his mother, who devoted her life to caring for him for all of his 40 years.

William liked going to the downtown library and another library in town, withdrawing art books, superhero books, science, adventure and Christian books. William loved music, especially Christian contemporary music, that he listened to on his favorite radio station, WHME, who would preach the Word of God. William liked to read his Bible and devotional often.

William had a great memory! He would remember events from his childhood, about his family and friends. He was protective of his mother, sister and niece, after Dad had gone to a nursing home and his brother was at work.

William liked buying a new cell phone every month. He liked buying things like clothes, shoes and just going out shopping every week. William enjoyed life to it’s fullest. William liked riding the Transpo Access to work. William’s weekly highlight in his life was going out with his support person, Wendy. William liked to go down to Lynch’s Gym and buy power drinks for muscle building. He enjoyed asking his neighbor, Tom, how was the weather as he passed, every day on the front porch.

William especially liked riding with his mother. That was their daily event. Another favorite of his was to ask to be taken out to his favorite restaurant to eat. William was an artist when he was young and continued to draw until his twenties. William was in 4-H and won lots of medals for his art and baking cookies in his teen years. William was in Special Olympics for many years and won lots of medals! All of his family was very proud of him for winning in wrestling, track and field and his favorite sport, basketball. William went to the YMCA almost every day of the week with his two brothers, Timothus and Johnathan, to play basketball, along with his nephew that he loved, Kane Man.

William’s two brothers, Timotheus and Johnatha, joined a group in the Special Olympics. They joined their brother so they could support him while he participated in his different sports that were held at Notre Dame. William’s happiest memories were with his brothers during their homeschooled years.

William went to the Madison Center Clubhouse where he enjoyed cooking in the kitchen with his staff and doing lots of fun things until their closing. William went to Madison Center with Tanyette and many friends from his community. William went to the Globe-Star and then to Logan Industries where he worked in the Supportive Workshop, working with other workers on the assembly line for years.

William was happy about his accomplishments at Logan Industries and what he created on Fridays in Studios with Annie, his supervisor. William is missed very much at Logan Industries by his supervisor and friends.

William loved his family and his cousins who lived out of town and contacted them frequently. William really missed his sisters and extended family that lived out of town.

William is survived by his mother, Loretta McCormick Page; dad John O. Page; sister and brothers, Angeletta Maureen McCormick Franks (Roland), Tamitra Geneen McCormick Williford (Bobby), Lynette Margaret McCormick Schuck (Brian), Timotheus McCormick (LaTasha), Johnathan Stephanus Page. William Louis McCormick, father, preceded him in death. William has lots of family members who live out of town, in St. Louis, MO, Georgia and Texas.

William had a love for life that will never be forgotten. Nobody can fill the void that he has left in his family. William will be greatly and sadly missed by his family and friends. William’s family, especially his mother, will cherish his memory forever! We are very blessed that God sent William into our lives. He was a gift from God!
