William “Pete” Butler, Jr., 84, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2019 after battling an extended illness. Pete was born on March 16, 1935 to William and Amanda (Brown) Butler.
A life-long resident of South Bend, Pete worked in roofing and construction for many years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a devoted son, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Left to cherish Pete’s memory are a sister, Rosie Weaver of South Bend and a brother, Henry Butler of Indianapolis; niece Sharon (David) Lax of South Bend; niece Marlene (Duane) Gilbert of Indianapolis, niece Paulette (Steve) Jeffers of Indianapolis, great-nieces Theresa (John) Johnson, Antoinette (Arthur) Booker, LaKesha (Kareem) Taylor and Beverly Perkins; great-nephews Lynell (Jennifer) Mitchem, Andrew Blue, Jr., Robert Weaver III and Minister Alonte Weaver; as well as a host of extended family members and friends. Pete was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Jessie Butler; nieces Ann Boughard and Lorna Taylor; nephews Andre Butler, Turhan Butler, Tyrone Weaver and Robert Weaver, Jr.
Services for Mr. William “Pete” Butler, Jr. will be held on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at 12:00 PM at Palmer Funeral Homes – West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend IN 46628.
