Albert Willie Jacobs Jr.

Albert Willie Jacobs Jr., 71, of South Bend, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 12, 2026.

Albert (known as “Jake” to many) was born on June 27, 1954, to the late Albert Willie Jacobs Sr. and Katherine Jacobs. He spent much of his life in South Bend, where he built lasting relationships and memories with family, friends, and all who knew him.

In his younger years, Albert proudly served his country in the United States Army. He went on to retire from St. Joseph Regional Medical Center after 35 years of service. Albert was known for his quiet strength, his love for music, and the comfort he found in watching his favorite television shows. One of the things he took the most pride in was his vehicles, which reflected the care and attention he put into the things that he loved.

He leaves to cherish his memory his significant other, Rebecca Folkner; his children, Takisha Jacobs, Christi Jacobs, Brittani Jacobs, Amber Folkner, and Jason Jacobs; his sister, Emerald Jackson and her husband, Carl Jackson; his brother, Argentric Jacobs; his brother-in-law, Ricky Ward; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Willie Jacobs Sr. and Katherine Jacobs; his sister, Deborah Ward; his son, Jeremy Jacobs; and his grandson, Abdul Cross.

Albert’s presence, love, and memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Though he is no longer with us physically, the moments shared with him will continue to live on through his family and all whose lives he touched.

The family would like to thank the staff at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Michiana Hematology Oncology, and Ernestine M. Raclin House who cared for Albert with such compassion and dignity.

Visitation for Albert will be held from 4pm-7pm on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Palmer Funeral Home-West Chapel, 2702 Lincolnway West, South Bend. A funeral service will begin at 11am on Saturday, May 23, 2026. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery-South Bend.
