Allen D. Albright

Allen D. Albright, 76 years old, passed away at 3:48 p.m. on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at Ernestine M. Raclin House, Mishawaka.  Allen was born on January 26, 1947 in LaPorte, IN to the late Edward “Ray” and Gladys H. (Knepp) Albright.  He was a lifelong resident of North Liberty.  On June 26, 1970 in North Liberty, Allen and Carol Clark were united in marriage.  Carol preceded in death on February 12, 2012 after 41 years of marriage.  On September 24, 2016 in North Liberty, Allen and Lois (Good) Wiggins were united in marriage. 

Along with Lois, his loving wife, Allen is survived by his three children, Amy Albright of LaPorte, Tony (Beth) Albright of North Liberty, and Al Crutchfield of Terre Haute, IN; step-son, Matthew L. (Tracy) Wiggins of Plainfield; eight grandchildren, Patrick White, Emily White, Gracie Lewis, Tristan Crutchfield, Dylan Albright, Rylie Albright, Matthew R. Wiggins, and Cossette Wiggins; and five great grandchildren.  Allen is also survived by his sister, Marlene (Duwaine) Baughman of North Liberty; and two brothers, Martin (Kathy) Albright of South Bend and Bryan (Tonya) Albright of North Liberty.

Allen retired in 2012 after working 46 years at Hydro-Aluminum.  Allen was a 52-year volunteer fireman for Liberty Township.  He was a faithful member of North Liberty United Methodist Church for over 45 years. Allen proudly served his country with the United States Army.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023 at the North Liberty United Methodist Church.  Military graveside services and burial will follow at Westlawn Cemetery, North Liberty.  Friends may visit with the family from 3:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville.  Friends may also visit with the family beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at the church.
