Alvina June Wallace Florea, 100, of Granger, IN., passed away at 11:38 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Story Point in Granger. Alvina was born on August 19, 1922 in Argos, IN., to Harry and Nellie (Dawson) Wallace, and as a young girl, she attended school at a one room schoolhouse. On August 24, 1941, Alvina married Lee H. Florea and was happily married for 69 years until Lee’s passing in 2011.
Alvina is survived by her three daughters; Marilyn (Denny) Kite of Granger, Jan (Charlie) Robison of Osceola, IN., and Sabrina (Jim) Spry of Charleston, SC., her sister, Nadine Rice of Wakarusa, IN., eight grandchildren; Mike, Nicole, Johanna, Corey, Scott, Tanner, Jeff and Kayla, twelve great grandchildren; Tyler, Jack, Zachary, Aubryn, Trenton, Bryce, Mazie, Charlie, Wyatt, Caroline, Rylan and Emory.
Alvina was preceded in death by her husband Lee, a son Harry Lee, three sisters; Roena, Juanita and Linda, five brothers; Burton, Derl, Clayton, Merlin and Devere and one great grandson, Ari Spry.
Visitation for Alvina will take place on Saturday, January 7, at 12:30 pm at the Palmer Funeral Home – Bubb Chapel, 3910 North Main Street, Mishawaka. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Michael Taber will officiate the services. Graveside services will take place on Monday, January 9 at 1:00 p.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana.
