Andrew Lawecki Obituary

In spite of the intense efforts and heart and soul of those closest to him, our dear Andrew Ryan Lawecki was taken from us on September 2, 2023, after a brief illness.

Andy will be missed by those who loved him for his unique way of bringing smiles and laughs to those near him.

Andy was the beloved child of Karma and Mike Lawecki and was born on April 29, 1987.

Andy had a fun childhood and participated in t-ball, 4-H, Taekwondo, and Boy Scouts, earning the rank of Eagle Scout.

Andy graduated from Riley High School in 2005 and Purdue University in 2010.  He was employed with NIPSCO for many years.  Andy always took his obligations seriously and could be relied upon to be there when he was needed.

Andy was preceded in death by his father, Michael Lawecki, his uncle, Robert A. Jolliff, his maternal grandparents Robert D. and Katie A. Jolliff and paternal grandparents John Lawecki and Lorraine Lawecki.

Family members who loved and will miss this special young man for his kindness and his quick wit are his aunts Marla Jolliff (Bruce Cramer), Lori White, Vicki Jolliff, Jan (Mike) Bristow and his uncle, Dan (Linda) Lawecki along with step-grandmother, Micki Lawecki of Nevada.  Cousins include Christina (David) Martin, Katie White, Morgan (Cris) Evangelisti, Taylor Jolliff (Chris Workman), Ross (Beverly) Bristow, Austin (Caitlin) Lawecki, Stephanie (Nick) Meyers, Jennifer Gregory, Dan (Kayla) Lawecki, Ashley (Ian) DeLater, and Holly (Adam) Shepp.

Andy was also loved by his many great nieces and nephews.

Andy knew his mom loved him with all her heart.  Karma and Andy were very close, and this loss is very devastating not only to his mom, but his family.

Karma and the family would like to thank the Southwest Fire Territory, South Bend Fire Department Paramedics and the St. Joseph County Police for their quick response.

Andy also rescued two dogs, first Ben and then his beloved Jack.
