Obituary

Angela L. Bishop, affectionately known as Angie, passed away on August 30, 2023, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Born on July 4, 1968, in South Bend, Indiana. Angie was the daughter of Walt C. and Glory L. (Stevens) Crawford.

She was the loving wife of Walter E. Bowsman and the proud mother of three sons, Joshua Bishop of Lafayette, Indiana, Wesley Bishop of Lafayette, Indiana, and Donny Bishop of Avondale, Arizona. Angie was also the doting grandmother to Tarra, Clark, and Marianna Bishop. She is survived by her brothers, Mark Crawford of Osceola, and Adam (Michelle) Crawford of Granger. Angie was preceded in death by her father, Walt, her sister, Beth Ann Crawford, her sister-in-law, Tammy Crawford, and her nephew, Drew Crawford.

Angie was a graduate of Penn High School and furthered her education at Kentucky Christian University. She was a dedicated professional, having worked as an administrative assistant at the Great Lafayette Retina Center for two years. Prior to that, Angie spent 12 years as a veterinarian assistant, a role that perfectly suited her love for animals.

Angie's love for animals was not confined to her professional life. In her personal life, she found joy in caring for her pets, which ranged from the usual four-legged variety to her recent brood of chickens. These chickens, initially a simple hobby, soon took on a life of their own, becoming an integral part of Angie's daily routine.

In addition to her love for animals, Angie had a passion for singing and attending fall festivals with Walt and exploring local antique stores in the area. These activities, while seemingly simple, brought Angie immense happiness and allowed her to create lasting memories with her loved ones.

However, Angie's greatest joy came from spending time with her family. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, always making time to connect with her boys and grandchildren. Whether it was a quick phone call or a family gathering, Angie never missed an opportunity to express her love and support for her family.

Angie's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. Her vibrant spirit, her love for her family, and her passion for life will be deeply missed. As we remember Angie, let us celebrate her life and the joy she brought to those around her. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of her loved ones and in the many lives she touched throughout her journey.
