Annelie (Gloeckner) Lechtanski

Annelie Lechtanski passed away on September 16, 2020, at the age of 73. She was born in Pinneberg, Germany on June 21, 1947, to Paul and Ilse Gloeckner. The family immigrated to South Bend, Indiana in 1952 and embraced their new country as well as their heritage. She graduated from Riley High School in 1966 and married David J. Lechtanski on August 23, 1969, at Holy Family Catholic Church. 

Annelie worked as an assistant in a medical office as well as a cafeteria server for School City Mishawaka. She loved to entertain family and friends and was in her element when she hosted dinners and gatherings. No one could leave her presence hungry even if they tried. She adored the holidays and loved to decorate for every season. She was a fan of music, animals, Betty Boop, sparkly jewelry, and anything to do with the beach. She had a generous heart and used it to care about others every day.

Annelie is survived by her husband, David, her son Aaron (Jennifer), and grandson, Andrew, brother-in-law Phillip (Kathy) Lechtanski, sister-in-law Anne Marie Lechtanski, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She also had many longtime friends, her family of the heart, some of whom have been in her life for more than 60 years. She will be missed by all.
