Annette Wolfe Obituary

Annette Vivian Wolfe (nee Hill), born December 22, 1947 in Villa Grove, II to John A. Hill and Vivian Z. Hill. She was on hospice care and passed peacefully up to heaven on April 17, 2024 at the age of 76 after a recent diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. She was a very intelligent, loving, strong lady, devoted to her faith in God. “They that hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will soar as with wings of eagles.” Isaiah 40:31. Annette means ‘graceful’. She achieved degrees from Lincoln Christian College, Lincoln, IL —Bachelors, a Masters degree in early childhood education from Eastern Illinois University, Charleston, IL and later a Masters of Business Administration from University of Illinois — Springfield, IL. She taught school while her husband was in medical school, ran a business, was marketing consultant for H&R Direct Marketing in Decatur, IL. She taught children at churches where we lived, including at the former Harris Prairie Church of Christ where she started the Children's Church program. She had been a CASA volunteer. She didn't really like to travel but loved being at the lake, where we watched grandchildren play and grow. It was on our 25 th anniversary that I offered to take her France, which had been a dream of hers, but she decided instead we should get a lake cottage and have enjoyed it for 28 years.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Richard W. Wolfe after 53 years of marriage. Her children are Jaim Richard Wolfe (wife Jessica) of Osceola, IN., Heather Annette Wolfe of Mishawaka, IN, John Aaron Wolfe of South Bend, IN and Amanda Suzanne Wolfe (husband Evan Cutler) of Boston, MA. Grandchildren are Parker Wolfe and Emma Wolfe of Osceola, IN and Emerson Cutler and Vivian Cutler of Boston, MA. All were greatly loved, but, of interest, Vivian (named after her maternal grandmother) was born on the same day in March that Annette was discovered to have had a stroke. Annette was able to see Vivian on computer screen but was not able to be visited by her newest grandchild due to her newborn status) but she was loved greatly (by grandparents on both sides). She is also survived by two brothers, John R. Hill and Jim R. Hill and a step- sister, Roxy Graham, all from Illinois. Much thanks and appreciation are given to the excellent care providers at both St. Joseph Medical Center and Northern Indiana Rehabilitation Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. as well as Heartland Hospice. Private family burial will take place with a celebration of life to be held at a future date with friends and family members at the lake in the summer. Funeral arrangements are through Palmer Funeral home, utilizing Welsheimer North Chapel, South Bend, IN. Interment will be at the peaceful Sumnerville (MI) Cemetery. Contributions in Annette's memory can be made to Michiana Christian Camp, Niles, MI.
