Anthony Wanzell Obituary

Anthony Wayne Wanzell, 67, of Mishawaka, Indiana, passed away at 5:45pm on Saturday June 6, 2026, in Brickyard Healthcare.

Born on April 26, 1959, in Fort Ord, California, Anthony was the son of Richard Lee and Patricia Sue (Throne) Wanzell. He spent much of his working life in restaurant management and later in welding with Ellis Graphics.

Anthony was a man of strong faith who loved God and valued family above all else. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and could often be found watching old western television shows, talking with friends and family, riding motorcycles, listening to rock and roll music, or playing horseshoes. Those who knew him remember his gift for conversation and his friendly nature. Blue was his favorite color, and he carried a deep love for those closest to him throughout his life.

Anthony was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Ann Hook Wanzell  and his 2nd wife, Florence Gene Wanzell. Anthony’s marriage was a source of great joy, and her passing left a void that weighed heavily on his heart. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Wanzell.

He is survived by his daughter, Brittany Wanzell of Kalamazoo, Michigan; his brothers, Rick, Chris, and Scott Wanzell; his sister, Robin Vicky Eckdee; and numerous extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, in Palmer Funeral Home – Welsheimer Chapel, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with a Neil Davis, a Chaplain from Paradigm Hospice officiating.

Anthony will be laid to rest at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Osceola.
