Arthur "Art" McGuire

Arthur “Art” McGuire, 85, residing in South Bend, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka.

Art was born on September 6, 1935, in Nashville, Indiana to Alva Arthur McGuire and Ruth (McGee) McGuire.

Art enjoyed yardwork, was a wonderful storyteller, loved children, and was a hard worker. He loved family time during the holidays, liked Western shows, enjoyed chocolate milkshakes, loved talking to people and loved animals.

He was united in marriage to Leona Zmudzinski for 66 years at Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Parish in South Bend.

In addition to his loving wife, Art is survived by his daughter, Gail Kronewitter of South Bend; his sons, Michael McGuire of Elkhart, and Jim (Rita) McGuire of Corona, California; his seven grandchildren, Brian, Kevin and Sean Kronewitter, Andrea and Brandon McGuire, and Nikki and Jonathon Karkawicz; twelve great grandchildren; and his brother, Charles (Helen) McGuire of Indianapolis.

Art is preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Rick Kronewitter; daughter-in-law, Teena McGuire; and sister, Marilyn Sue Taylor.

Funeral services for Art will be held on Thursday, July 22, 2021, at 12:00 pm at Palmer Funeral Home – River Park Chapel, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, IN 46615. Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to services and from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 21, 2021. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in South Bend.
