Barbara Dylewski Obituary

Barbara Ann Dylewski, 87, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023 at Brickyard at Tanglewood in Mishawaka, Indiana.

She was the daughter of Roe and Dorothy Brenner. She is survived by her husband Gene Dylewski, son Scott Phillips, grandson Brian Phillips, Kevin McIntrye, granddaughters Karri McIntrye and Jamie Herroman, Gene’s gang and several great grandchildren. Both parents preceded her in death as well as a brother James Edward Brenner and beloved uncle Donald Edward Brugger, former husbands Michael Owen Phillips and John Dylewski, stepson Robert Dylewski and John Dylewski, Jr.; and stepdaughter Sharron Dylewski.

Barbara was born in South Bend, Indiana and raised in Niles, Michigan. She graduated from Niles High School in 1953. Barbara and her “53 Club Sisters” maintained a club which met every month since they graduated.

Barbara started work for Michigan Bell Telephone in April 1952 and retired in December 1985 with 32 years of service. She was President of the Active and Retired Telephone Pioneers. She belonged to the American Business Womans Association.

Barb enjoyed baking and making crafts but most of all she enjoyed her family and her extended families and the many parties that were held.

At Barb’s request, there will be no services as such, but rather a gathering when everyone can meet, eat, and exchange pictures and conversations of the past. Therefore, a Celebration of Life will be held 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2023 where a Polish style dinner will be served at American Legion Post #308, 122 Lincolnway East, Osceola, IN. She has asked that her body be donated for medical research for the benefit of others. Palmer Funeral Homes - River Park Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana, 922 E Colfax Avenue, South Bend, IN 46617.
