Obituary

Bernard Dale Campbell, 78 years old, passed away at 2:15 p.m. on Friday, September 8, 2023 in Elkhart General Hospital.  Dale was born on August 27, 1945 in London, KY, the son of Herbert and Rhoda Campbell, and has lived in South Bend since 1967, coming from Kentucky.  On September 2, 1967 in London, KY, Dale and Betty June Poynter were united in marriage.  Betty preceded him in death on June 23, 2008 after 40 years of marriage. 

Dale is survived by his four children, Laura (Daniel) Crawford of Granger, Todd (Debra) Campbell of Knoxville, TN, Kimberly (Doug) Hayes of Syracuse, and Melissa (Byron) Naff of Elkhart; and his brother, Hovie Campbell of Homosassa, Florida. Also surviving are his twelve grandchildren, Ashley, Phillip Crawford, Tiffany (Landon) Dunlap; Madissen (Aaron) Walker, Nicholas (Hannah), Allyson Campbell; Drew (Kira), Chase, Colin, Lauren Hayes; Tyler, Chandler (Emily) Naff; and one great grandson, Walker Hayes. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 18, at Palmer Funeral Home, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 N. Michigan Street, Lakeville, IN. Dr. Alan Carson, Sr. will officiate. Military graveside services and burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery, South Bend. The family will receive friends from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Sunday, & 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
