Bethany Lucksted Obituary

Bethany Ann Lucksted (Koerber) 87, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026 in Granger, Indiana surrounded by her loving family. Born on Dec 17, 1938, in Flint, Michigan to Ernest William and Frances Laverne Koerber, Bethany spent her early years in Flint before moving to Grayling, Michigan, where she met the love of her life, the late Allan Lucksted. Bethany lived a full and vibrant life marked by her love of family, and dedication to her passions.

Bethany and Allan were married for 55 years. She was a devoted mother to her three children. An avid gardener and boating enthusiast, Bethany found peace and happiness in nature. She loved nothing more than tending to her garden or being on the water with her family. Also a skilled bridge player, she had a focused mind, quick wit and a sharp tongue, and brought energy and humor to every gathering. Her generosity extended beyond her immediate circle as she dedicated time and resources to numerous charities and clubs throughout her life.

Bethany is survived by her 2 daughters, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren:

Tracie Strauss (Tim), Adam Strauss and Jacob Strauss; Jodi Meyers (Michael), Matthew Meyers, Megan Chambers (Noah), Cohen Chambers and Conley Chambers; Jeff Lucksted-deceased-(Sandy Panella),Spencer Travis, Ryan Lucksted and Kyle Lucksted.

Bethany is also survived by her brother William Koerber and 4 half brothers, Randy, Rick, Tom and Greg Koerber, and a large and loving extended family of sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews.

Bethany is preceded in death by her late husband, Allan R. Lucksted, son Jeffrey A. Lucksted, and step brothers George Goodrich and Mike Goodrich.

May the many fond memories of Bethany be cherished by all who knew her. Her strength, intelligence and unwavering love for those around her will leave an indelible mark on the hearts of many. And may these memories bring comfort to those who loved her.

A memorial celebration of Bethany’s life will be held at Palmer Funeral Home, Hickey Chapel, at 17131 Cleveland Rd, South Bend, Indiana 46635, Thursday, July 23rd, visitation to begin at noon, with a service to follow at 2 pm.
