Betty J (Randt) Robinson

Betty J. (Randt) Robinson, 98, a lifelong resident of South Bend passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2026, at Southfield Village.

Betty was born on September 28, 1927, in South Bend to the late Fred and Letha (Reed) Randt.

On August 11, 1946, she married John D. Deck, sharing 64 years together before his passing in 2011.  She then married Manford Robinson on June 15, 2013, and the two spent 11 years together before his passing 2024.

Betty worked for 33 years for the South Bend Community School Corporation as a cashier at Riley High School.

Betty is survived by her daughters, LuAnn (Dale) Klein and Patti (Sidney) Ottman and her son, John (Sherrill) Deck Jr. and her stepchildren, Kay Larson-Shafer, Beth Boehr, and Tom (Ruth Ann) Robinson.  Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchild along with 7 step grandchildren and 18 step great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is her brother, Larry (Kay) Randt.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands; John Deck and Manford Robinson, and her siblings; Mary Lou Stockman and William Randt.

A graveside service will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday August 14, 2026, at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.  Those wishing to participate in a farewell procession to the cemetery are invited to meet at the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St. South Bend at 11:30 am.

A celebration of life will be held from 1pm- 4pm on Saturday August 15, 2026, at Mickey and Jen’s home- 33914 Bertrand Rd. Niles, MI 49120.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice, 1626 E. Day Rd. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
