Betty Alice (Baker) Stevens

Betty Alice Stevens, 92, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on November23,2025 peacefully in her home where family had been gathering around her.

Betty was born on May 2,1933 in Jackson Michigan to the late Marion (Johnson) and Frank Baker.

She worked as a nurse at St Joe Hospital for many years and continued on with private duty nursing for most of her life.

She married Alvin Miltenberger on October 28,1950 with whom she had four children, Alvin, Peggy, Diana, and Kathy. Later in life she married Jim Hill on November 6, 1981. In 1995 they moved to California until they separated in 1999 and Betty moved back to Indiana to be closer to her children and grandchildren. In 2002 she married Charles Stevens and they were married until his passing in 2006.

Betty is survived by her daughters Peggy Perkins- Osborne and her husband Chuck whom she lived with, and Kathy Hanson. She had 13 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Diana Whitmer and her son Alvin Miltenberger. 

The thing Betty loved most in life was being with her family, gardening and Betty Boop. In her younger years she enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to Leslie Lafree for the help, love  and care she provided to Betty the last few months.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 2:00pm to 4:00pm on Monday December 15, 2025, at Palmer Funeral Home - Bubb Chapel 3910 N. Main St. Mishawaka, IN 46545.
