At peace, and now in the presence of our gracious Lord, Beverly Cloud passed away on October 3, 2021, age 93, at St. Joseph Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. She was a native of Hart, Michigan and longtime resident of South Bend, IN. Beverly had a 39-year career in the accounting department of the South Bend Tribune, retiring from her position in 1988.
An avid golfer, Beverly was a member of Bowlers Country Club. She enjoyed not only the golf, but the 19th Hole social interaction after her rounds. Bev was also passionate about animals and all who knew her were amused by the names she gave her dogs, as they were often
golf- inspired names such as Putter and Divot.
She is preceded in death by her parents William & Ruby (Fisher) Cloud and five older brothers:
Marral, Gerald, Keith, Richard and Kenneth. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as close friends Donna McLin, Diane Gram, Phyllis Smallwood and the Schmidt Family (Dallas, Elizabeth & Erin).
Special thank you to the staff at Tanglewood Trace in Mishawaka for the care provided to Beverly when she could no longer live independently.
Graveside services will be held Monday, October 18 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, 375 W. Cleveland Rd., Granger, IN. Pastor Brad Davick will preside. Those wishing to attend should meet at the cemetery office at 9:45am.
Beverly was an associate member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League Players Association and close friend to many women who played for the South Bend Blue Sox.
