Bonnie Elva Busard

November 29, 1923 ~ October 1, 2015 (age 91) 91 Years Old

Bonnie Elva Busard, 91, of South Bend, IN passed away at 1:30 a.m. Thursday, October 1, 2015, at the Sanctuary at St. Paul.  She was born on November 29, 1923, in Monte Vista, CO to Horace Robert and Ida Luella (Crooks) Burns.  In 1941, she married Ed Kuder and on October 22, 1960, in Monmouth, IL, she married Charles Wesley Busard, Jr. who preceded her in death on August 4, 2015, after fifty-four years of marriage.

Mrs. Busard is survived by her children, Jody Hurley of Michigan City, IN, Judith Ann (Charles) Bowen of South Bend, IN,  David (Pat) Kuder of Plymouth, IN, Roy (Martha) Kuder of South Bend, IN, Cindy Kay Busard of Provo, UT and Lyman (Libby) Busard of Greenwood, IN; stepchildren, Nancy (Michael) Chu of Colorado Springs, CO, Jennifer Fitzsimmons of Lakeland, FL and Sue (George) Egalite of Lakeland, FL; twenty-one grandchildren and thirty-five great grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Marjorie Catalano and three brothers, Robert Burns, Roy Burns and Lloyd Burns.

Mrs. Busard moved to Plymouth, IN in 1961 coming from Burlington, IA.  She retired in 1985 from Town & Country Press.  She was a very active member of the Church of  Jesus Christ of the Latter Day Saints, a member of the Christian Women's Association, LaVille Athletic Club and LaVille Boosters Music Club.  She also served as a Boy and Girl Scout Leader.  She loved her family very much and attending their sporting and other extra-curricular activities was a favorite past time.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at the Palmer Funeral Home, 314 S. Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. Graveside services and burial will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.  Friends may visit with the family from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the services at the funeral home.
