Bonnie June Florey, 88, of Buchanan, Michigan, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 9:50 p.m. at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria, Illinois.
Born on December 31, 1937, in Glendora, Michigan, Bonnie was the daughter of Fred and Blanche (Holcomb) Taube.
Bonnie was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was known for her warm heart, her love of family, and the joy she found in time spent with those she loved most. She was a graduate of Buchanan High School after returning to earn her GED and proudly graduating in 1973 alongside her son, David. Affectionately known as ‘Tiger,’ Bonnie enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Florey, who passed away on September 26, 2001; her parents; her sister, Doris Buck; and her brothers, Gene Taube and Bill Taube.
Surviving are her sons, Michael (Kim) Florey of Beason, Illinois, and David (Debbie) Florey of Buchanan; six grandchildren, Jason, Duane, Joshua (Andrea), Jennifer (Keith), Jessica (Jordan), and Janessa (Kyle); twelve great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Palmer Funeral Homes – Hoven Chapel, 414 E. Front St. Buchanan, MI. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Dave Mitchell officiating. Graveside service and burial will immediately follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
