Brenda Jill Hunt

Brenda “Jill” Hunt, affectionately known as Memaw, passed away peacefully on June 3,2023, in Mishawaka, Indiana. Born on December 26, 1952, she was a loving daughter to the late Golden James Hunt and Helen Ileane (Farris) Hunt. Memaw's warm presence and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Memaw was a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, leaving behind a devoted family who will continue to honor her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Hunt; her grandchildren, Drew, Blake, and Denny; her great-grandchild, Kali; and her sister, Jamie Schelkopf. Memaw was preceded in death by her parents, her daughters Dorothy Hodges and Tomarra Hodges, her grandchild Patrick, and her sisters Joanne Anselment and Carolyn Hunt.

Throughout her life, Memaw was known for her strong work ethic, dedicating many years to the food industry as a talented waitress and bartender. Her friendly and thoughtful nature made her a favorite among customers and coworkers alike. Memaw's genuine warmth and kindness were felt by everyone she encountered, and her ability to make others feel welcome and at ease was truly unmatched. Memaw's life was marked by an unwavering devotion to her family, who were her pride and joy. She found immense happiness in the simplest of moments spent with her loved ones, whether it was sharing a meal, playing games, or simply sitting quietly in each other's company. Memaw was a constant source of support and encouragement for her family, and her gentle guidance and wisdom will be deeply missed.

As her family and friends gather to celebrate her life and share memories, it is clear that Memaw's legacy of love and compassion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
